Dual Pulsars: Skywatches that Generate Local-scale Waves

Yayın:

A hidden verification in binary systems: Atarces, or pulsars, are neutron stars that emit electromagnetic radiation from their magnetic poles, are highly magnetized, and rotate. These objects become very useful tools for astronomers due to their extremely regular cycles, which range from milliseconds to seconds, but with a very precise interval. This regularity turns pulsars into a special observational tool.

There are three distinct classes of pulsars, classified according to the source of their electromagnetic radiation: rotating pulsars, accreting pulsars, and magnetars. All of these are neutron stars, but their observable behavior and underlying physics are quite different.
