Двухсветные пульсары: небесные часы, подтверждающие квантовые колебания на локальном уровне

Yayın:

A pulsar, or neutron star, is a highly magnetized and rotating neutron star that emits electromagnetic radiation from its magnetic poles. These objects become very useful tools for astronomers due to their extremely regular cycles, ranging from milliseconds to seconds, but with a very precise interval. This regularity turns pulsars into a special observational tool.

There are three separate classes of pulsars, classified according to the source of their electromagnetic radiation: rotating pulsars, accumulation pulsars, and magnetars. All of these are neutron stars, but their observable behavior and underlying physics are quite different.
